Near the end of the winter the Busan Bike Riding Club on facebook decided to have another bike social event. Even though some drizzling rain scared many a cyclist away, 10 people met up to cycle along the Suyeong and Oncheon river paths. Coby, the bike party master from Changwon joined us, and Themba, bike party guru from Seoul also came to see what we are all about. It was the perfect afternoon and many ideas about bike parties were exchanged over Turkish kebabs. Bike party event info on facebook:![]() Cycle from Gwangali beach to Suyeong river, then up Oncheon river past PNU and finally to Cappadocia, a Turkish restaurant. Have lunch and cycle back or take the subway back at any of the stations on the way (line 1). About 20km there, all very flat and 90% bike path. About a year ago someone on facebook started a group for people interested in cycling in Busan. Slowly the members and interest grew. People on the group started saying they would like to meet up and cycle together. So just before the real cold of the winter started we organised a bike social event. The route was from Sasang station cycling along the Nakdong river path to the certification centre, then from there to Dadaepo beach, have a rest and cycle back to Hadan station. Even though it was cold and windy, quite a few people from the facebook group turned up at the station. We cycled to the certification centre and many of us ended up getting some cycling passports. Unfortunately the cycling road down to Daedaepo is still under construction, so we mostly cycled on the road. We saw a beautiful but very cold and chilly sunset and then ducked into a Starbuck for some coffee. After a very windy ride back to Hadan station we said goodbye to everyone. Our first Busan social cycling meet-up done.
